I recently joined Revive as I have suffered with an ongoing injury in the hope Yoga would help ease my discomfort/pain in my day to day activities. I have found that Yoga classes have really helped stretch out my aching joints & muscles whilst helping to ease my symptoms. The venue is well layed out & equipped. It has classes to suit all. The teachers are excellent whilst being approachable & friendly. I wish I had taken up Yoga years ago as a preventative measure & I may not have suffered with all the injuries I picked up over the years!

I was really pleased to find out there was a local hot yoga class nearby. I haven’t tried any other classes, as the Saturday morning power hot yoga is my favourite & the time suits me. I’ve attended 7 classes now & I can honestly say my yoga practice has improved greatly! Ash is a great yogi & creates a calming environment within the session - the playlist in class is great too! I always leave feeling very uplifted & refreshed. After the 90 minute class yesterday, I was trying to put in to words how intense the class was, I felt like I had pushed myself & worked hard (with no pressure, you go at your own pace), yet felt relaxed & had a great buzz feeling all at the same time. I guess it’d be best to experience a class for that to make sense! Many thanks Ash & team.

A complete yoga beginner a fortnight ago and now I am hooked! 8 classes in 2 weeks and plan on extending to the full membership. I have loved every class I’ve tried and I feel so good when I leave. As a busy Mum of 3 I look forward to the classes for my own time to zone out. Thank you!

Extremely welcoming yoga studio, lots of varying classes throughout the day for all levels of ability and people that are curious. It’s a great mix of Yoga and Pilates and all the instructors are lovely, friendly, but mainly appealing as they explain positions and moves clearly and help make sure you’re in the right alignment and posture and give options if you can’t make it to their or others levels. Thanks Ash, Rachel and Carole x

Questions? We (probably)
have the answers!

Yoga is a holistic practice that originated in India and encompasses physical postures (asanas),
breathing practices (pranayama), meditation (dhyana) along with ethical principles (yamas and
niyamas), which gives us a path and framework to embody in our daily lives on and off the mat. The
vastness of Yoga helps us to unite our mind, body, and spirit, helping us to live a balanced life with
more harmony and freedom.
1. Physical Health: Yoga helps to improve flexibility, strength, and balance. It can help to
alleviate chronic pain and enhance posture.
2. Mental Clarity: Regular practice helps to increase focus, concentration, and mental clarity. It
has been shown in studies to be an excellent tool for stress reduction and managing anxiety.
3. Emotional Balance: Yoga encourages self-awareness and self-acceptance. It helps to develop
resilience and cope with life’s challenges.
4. Improved Breathing: Pranayama (breath control) techniques enhance lung capacity which in
turn can reduce stress and boost energy levels.
5. Better Sleep: Improving the quality of your sleep, Yoga can help you wake up feeling
refreshed and rejuvenated.
6. Enhanced Mind-Body Connection: Yoga fosters a strong connection between your physical
body, mental- body and emotional body, promoting a sense of wholeness and mindfulness.
7. Heart Health: Certain practices like meditation have been linked to lower blood pressure and
reduced risk of heart disease.
8. Community and Support: Practicing in a class setting can help you connect with like-minded
individuals, fostering a sense of belonging and support.
9. Spiritual Growth: Yoga encourages self-discovery, a sense of purpose, and a connection to
something greater than themselves.

No, you do not need prior experience to join Yoga classes. We offer inclusive classes that welcomes
individuals of all backgrounds, fitness levels, and experience. We offer classes that cater your skill
levels and meet what you are looking to get from your practice. To help you chose the right class for
you here is a few things you can do to get started:
1. Look at class descriptions to see which classes are specifically designed for newcomers and
will introduce you to the basic postures and principles of Yoga.
2. Inform Your Teacher: When you arrive at your first class, let your teacher know you are just
starting and of any injuries/ concerns you have. They are all there to help you have the best
stress-free experience.
3. Be clear on your intention. Ask yourself what is it you are looking to get from your practice
and check in with your energy levels on each given day. It is perfectly fine to choose gentler
classes or take breaks and modify postures to suit your comfort level.
4. Stay open minded: Yoga is more than a physical practice, its also about enhancing your
emotional and mental wellbeing. Be open to explore new thoughts, feelings, and sensations.

5. Ask questions: Do not hesitate to ask about anything you’re unsure of. Yoga is there to help
you gain mental clarity.
6. Enjoy the Journey: Yoga is a journey. Be patient and kind to yourself. Celebrate your
progress and breakthrough moments.

Revive is a welcoming non-judgemental community here to support you on your journey
towards self-discovery.

Wear what you feel most comfortable in. Here are some suggestions to help you:
1. Yoga Leggings/Trousers or Shorts: Opt for stretchy, moisture-wicking Yoga leggings to help
provide freedom of movement and comfort during poses.
2. Breathable Top: Choose a comfortable tank top or T-shirt. Avoid tops with too much loose
fabric as it can get it the way during poses.
3. Sports Bra: If you are a woman, a supportive sports bra is essential for comfort during Yoga.
4. Depending on the temperature of the class, you may wish to bring a long-sleeved
top/jumper to put on during the cooling down part of the practice.
To further assist your practice here are some accessories we advise that you bring:
1. Yoga Mat: We do provide mats, however due to hygiene purposes, you are required to place
a large towel on top. If you forget, you can hire a towel from us for £1. If bringing your own
mat, choose a non-slip mat with adequate cushioning for your comfort.
2. Yoga Towel: A non-slip yoga towel can be placed over your mat to prevent slipping during a
sweaty practice. A towel is also a great prop for sensitive knees or wrists.
3. Water Bottle: It is important that you stay hydrated, especially during our hot classes. It may
help to infuse your water with electrolytes to replace important salts lost during class.
4. Small Towel: A hand towel can be handy for wiping sweat during class.

The frequency of your Yoga practice and the time it takes to feel noticeable results can vary
depending on your goals, current fitness level and the type of Yoga you are practice. For beginners
new to Yoga, starting with 2-3 classes per week is a great way to build a foundation and get
accustomed to the practice. If you are practicing for general wellbeing 2-4 times per week can help
maintain physical and mental well-being. If your aim is for even more Physical benefits to improve
flexibility, strength and balance, Yoga 3-5 times a week provides consistency which is key for
progress. In saying that, Yoga can have immediate benefits for stress relief and mental clarity and
just 1 or 2 sessions can help you experience these benefits. For a deeper mind-body connection
practicing 5-6 times a week may help so long as you listen to your body and chose the style that best
suits you on each given day.

The key is to find a balanced practice that aligns with your lifestyle and goals. It is about finding
balance this means knowing when to give yourself permission to rest. Remember, Yoga can be both
physical and mental, whilst it may take a few weeks to experience the physical changes, mental
benefits can often be experienced after just a few sessions. The journey of Yoga is a personal one,
enjoy the practice and the benefits at your own pace without attachment, judgement, or
comparison to anyone else’s journey.
